The MT8106iP is a Weintek iP-series human machine interface designed for machine visualization, operator control and communication with industrial controllers. It combines a wide-view touchscreen, quad-core processing and multiple communication interfaces in a panel-mount unit suitable for new equipment and HMI replacement projects.

Frequently Asked Questions
Which EasyBuilder Pro version is required for the MT8106iP?
Standard MT8106iP units require EasyBuilder Pro V6.08.01 or later. Units labeled MT8106iP (V2) require EasyBuilder Pro V6.09.02 or later.
Is the MT8106iP directly interchangeable with the MT8106iE?
Not without checking the application. Although their enclosure and panel-cutout dimensions are the same, their serial-port arrangements, display specifications, processor configuration and PCB protection differ. Convert the EasyBuilder Pro project and verify all communication wiring before replacement.
Can the MT8106iP communicate with a Siemens PLC through MPI?
Yes. Its RS-485 communication interface supports MPI at 187.5 kbit/s. COM2 and COM3 RS-485 2-wire can support MPI, but only one MPI connection should be used at a time.
Can COM1 and COM3 RS-232 be used simultaneously?
Yes, but COM1 is limited to Tx and Rx when COM3 RS-232 is also used. RTS and CTS hardware flow-control signals are unavailable in this configuration.
Is the complete MT8106iP enclosure protected to IP65?
No. The IP65/NEMA 4 rating applies to the front panel when the HMI is correctly installed and sealed in a suitable indoor enclosure. The rear housing and connectors still require enclosure protection.
