About Omron CJ1W-TC004 Temperature Control Unit
The CJ1W-TC004 is an Omron CJ-series temperature control unit designed to manage two independent heating loops directly from a PLC rack. It accepts seven thermocouple types and combines PNP pulse outputs, PID or ON/OFF control, autotuning and heater burnout monitoring for industrial machines that require integrated temperature regulation and fault detection.
Key Features
- Two-loop temperature control: Controls two independent heating zones from one compact Special I/O Unit.
- Broad thermocouple support: Accepts R, S, K, J, T, B and L thermocouple inputs for different temperature ranges.
- PNP pulse outputs: Provides short-circuit-protected PNP open-collector outputs rated at up to 100 mA per output.
- Flexible control methods: Supports ON/OFF control or two-degree-of-freedom PID control with forward or reverse operation.
- Automatic PID tuning: Autotuning can calculate suitable PID constants and can be started or stopped from the CPU Unit.
- Heater burnout monitoring: Detects heater current up to 50 A using a compatible E54-CT1 or E54-CT3 current transformer.
- 500 ms sampling cycle: Provides consistent temperature sampling, output refresh and display refresh for both control loops.
